Programme evaluation "Tipptopp. Gesund im Mund und rundherum" 2023
Abstract
The city-wide oral health promotion programme "Tipptopp. Gesund im Mund und rundherum" was launched in 2000 as a pilot project in two districts of Vienna under the name "Tipptopp Kariesstopp". Since then, there have been numerous extensions to expand the joint activities to promote oral health by the Vienna Health Promotion Programme and the Austrian Health Insurance Fund.
The programme has been scientifically evaluated by abif since 2018. The evaluation takes a holistic approach - based on the Swiss Health Promotion "Ergebnismodell" (results model) - to planning, structural and process quality as well as the reach and acceptance of the health promotion measures and the quality of the programmes results. The formative and summative programme evaluation of "Tipptopp. Gesund im Mund und rundherum" is being carried out using a range of different qualitative and quantitative methods in Viennese kindergartens and primary and secondary schools in order to provide relevant suggestions for optimisation in the future.
In the extended evaluation period, abif is analysing newly added materials and project components and is evaluating data from the Austrian Health Insurance Fund on the use of dental services.
